Arnold Schwarzenegger criticizes Donald Trump: coal kills more than ISIS

Actor and former Governor of California ( USA ) Arnold Schwarzenegger criticizes that US President Donald Trump wants to promote the exploitation of coal when that fuel “kills” many more people than the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group .

“Only someone living in the Stone Age” wants to recover coal as an energy source, Schwarzenegger, 69, said in statements published today by the Viennese newspaper Die Presse . Benefits of squats

While visiting Austria, his country of origin, the actor of dual nationality (Austrian and American) explains that despite being a member of the Republican Party as Trump is, he cannot support the current president because he considers his policy priorities wrong.

In particular, he referred to Donald Trump’s promise to recover activities in closed coal mines in the United States , which is part of a policy of promoting fossil fuels, increasing military spending and reducing the budget for the protection of the environment.

“Seven million people die each year from air pollution and Trump wants to reclaim coal and fight ISIS . The Islamic State has to be eliminated, but it is not the number one problem for (all) human beings, it is not a greater danger than coal, ”he says.

Today, “whoever wants to do something for public safety should protect the environment,” adds who was governor of the State of California between 2003 and 2011.

On the other hand, he acknowledges that Trump’s success in last November’s elections is related to the fact that the American population is “fed up” with the political class of the first world power, which he criticizes for “not telling the truth and not complying the promises ”that are made in the campaign.

“People are fed up. And then one is amazed when really rare birds come to power, “he says.

In this context, he recognizes a certain parallelism between his triumph in California in 2003 and the vote in favor of billionaire businessman Trump, since neither had been a politician before.

He also attacked his political co-religionists because after years of harsh criticism of former President Barack Obama’s “Obamacare” health law, they have failed to replace it.

“If Republicans don’t like Obama’s health care reform, they shouldn’t continue to attack it, but instead come up with a program of their own, not say, ‘Oh, it’s our turn now and we really don’t have anything better to offer.'”

Arnold Schwarzenegger participated last Friday in the final ceremony of the Winter Games “Special Olympics”, the largest European sporting event for people with intellectual disabilities, which was held at the city stadium of Graz, the capital of the Austrian federal state of Styria, located very close to the town of Thal bei Graz that saw him born.

It was in the booths under the stands of that stadium where “Terminator” began his bodybuilding career, which led him to become European and World champion in that discipline in 1965 and 1967, respectively, before moving to the United States in 1968 .
